Provided is an automated analyzer which is capable of analysis that eliminates the restrictions in the range of positions on a sample placement disc on which patient analytes, urgent analytes, quality control samples, and calibration samples can be placed, and allows for changing of the number of samples that can be measured simultaneously by type of analyte. In the automated analyzer, the analyzing unit (8) has a disc identifying unit (24) for identifying the type of sample placement disc (19) that is set in the analyzing unit (8), said sample placement disc (19) being a calibration sample dedicated disc or patient analyte dedicated disc, and a computer (22) identifies the type of sample placement disc (19) on the basis of the identification results of the disc identifying unit (24) and performs a liquid sample analysis based on the type of sample placement disc (19) that was identified. |
