<p>Provided are an air filter apparatus and an air purifier using the air apparatus. The air filter apparatus comprises a hollow columnar filter (10) and a light source located inside the filter (10). The filter (10) comprises an activated carbon layer (11) and a filter paper layer (12) located outside the activated carbon layer (11). Activated carbon is filled in the activated carbon layer (11), and a photocatalyst is coated on the surface of an activated carbon. The activated carbon layer (11) faces the light source (20). Due to the use of the photocatalyst and the corresponding light source (20), the air purification effect of the air filter apparatus is greatly improved.</p>
