Disclosed are an apparatus and method for managing security content using a virtual folder. A data controller receives an authority policy for content from a security content server and stores the authority policy in a storage means. A security processing unit encrypts or decrypts content on the basis of the authority policy provided from the data controller. A security file system interface unit drives a virtual folder creating module operating in a kernel mode, creates a virtual folder on the basis of the position information of the virtualization target folder and path information of the virtual folder and registers the created virtual folder in a file system, and provides instructions so as to encrypt or decrypt the content by providing, to the security processing unit, the content corresponding to an input/output event for content recorded or to be recorded in a virtual folder hooked from the kernel mode. According to the present invention, content created in different environments may be provided to a user on the basis of authority information without a separate content conversion task. |
