The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical combination that can be used in the prevention and treatment of iodine-capturing chemically-resistant cancers, said combination comprising a composition of molecular iodine and anthracylines for human use. The molecular iodine composition can be administered orally or topically and is administered in conjunction with chemotherapy using anthracyclines, thereby preventing the cancerous cell from developing resistance to the anthracyclines by inhibiting the expression of the anti-apoptotic proteins. The molecular iodine composition is administered continuously before, sequentially, conjointly or simultaneously with the chemotherapy using anthracyclines.
