The invention relates to a method for continuously supplying and connecting strip- or band-shaped products consisting of finite fibres to a screw machine, wherein initially strips of finite length having a defined width and mass per unit area or bands having a defined fineness are produced from finite fibres, which strips or bands are then each stored in a suitable container. According to the invention, at least two such strip-shaped or band-shaped products (1, 2), each having different running lengths, are drawn at the same time from different containers (3, 4) and supplied continuously to an extruder, and at the end of the running length of a strip or band, the start of a further new strip (9) or band, which is kept ready, is connected automatically to the still running strip or band and then drawn together with the latter into the extruder.
