PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium yielding an image having a high optical density and humidity resistance and excellent in terms of ink absorbency and conveyance scratch resistance.SOLUTION: The provided recording medium is a recording medium possessing a substrate, a first ink receptive layer, and a second ink receptive layer in this order wherein the first ink receptive layer includes inorganic particles, a hydroxyl group-containing water-soluble resin, a hydroxyl group-free water-soluble resin, and boric acid and wherein the second ink receptive layer includes inorganic particles, a hydroxyl group-containing water-soluble resin, and boric acid while satisfying the condition (1): of including no hydroxyl group-free water-soluble resin or the conditions (2): of including a hydroxyl group-free water-soluble resin but of the content of the hydroxyl group-free water-soluble resin with respect to the content of the inorganic particles within the second ink receptive layer being less than the content of the hydroxyl group-free water-soluble resin with respect to the content of the inorganic particles within the first ink receptive layer. |
