The invention relates to an ironing system producing steam, which includes an iron unit, a base unit having a steam-production unit, a linking means for connecting the iron unit to the steam-production unit, enabling the linking means to supply steam to the iron, and a storage means enabling the iron unit to be removably attached to the base unit, when the base unit is resting on a substantially horizontal stand. The dimensions of the system include a diameter and a height, the diameter corresponding to that of the smallest possible imaginary cylinder positioned vertically with the ironing system inside the imaginary cylinder when the base unit is resting on a substantially horizontal stand, and the height corresponding to the distance separating the highest point of the ironing system that is furthest from the substantially horizontal stand, when the distance is measured perpendicular to a substantially horizontal stand. The ironing unit, the base unit and the storage means are arranged such as to obtain a first height value that is higher than a second value of the diameter. |
