The bearing support unit has a bearing (12) and a thin-walled bearing support element (10), at which an outer ring (14) of the bearing is fastened. A sensor element (16) is fixed to the outer ring or at the bearing support element. The sensor element is provided for measuring a rotational speed, with which an inner ring (18) of the bearing rotates relative to the outer ring. The bearing support element is partially formed from plastic or sheet metal. The bearing support unit has a sealing unit (20) with a fixing surface (32), by which the sealing unit is fixed to the bearing support element. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device, particularly motor vehicle device with a bearing support unit, an oil chamber and an electric motor; and (2) a sensing method involves measuring an operating characteristic variable using a sensor element.
