The domestic appliance (1) has a hose connector (51), a hose (6) and a hose clamp (8), where the hose clamp is arranged on the hose to a hose connection portion, in which the hose connector and the hose are inserted into each other. The hose clamps are tightened around the hose by using lever action in such a way that a substantially fluid-tight connection is provided between the hose and the hose connector. The hose clamp includes a closure strap and a locking lug which are hooked by the lever action to form the substantially fluid-tight connection between the hose and hose connector. An independent claim is included for a method for attaching a hose on a hose connecting portion by using a hose clamp in a domestic appliance, particularly a washing machine or a dishwasher.
