PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of performing flexible power saving control depending on an operation state while reducing influence on communication.SOLUTION: A communication device having a plurality of communication processing units configuring a redundant system comprises: means for measuring a communication amount processed by a communication processing unit as an active system; means for determining necessity of change of a power consumption mode in which the communication processing unit is driven, depending on a result of the measurement; means for making a communication processing unit as a standby system be driven in the changed power consumption mode, and process a test signal, and performing test processing for determining whether or not the test signal has been processed normally; and changeover means for changing over the communication processing unit as the standby system to be as an active system only when a result of the test processing is normal. |
