The method involves determining a view behavior of a driver (100), and evaluating the view behavior. Parking- and/or maneuvering assistance systems are switched-on (160) based on the evaluation of the view behavior. Parking- and/or maneuvering intentions of a driver are recognized based on the behavior of the driver. A probability is intended for the parking- and/or ranking intentions based on the behavior, and a threshold value of probability is compared (150) with a threshold value. A determined view behavior is compared with deposited profiles of the view behavior by a correlation process.
