PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for interrupting printing when it is determined that an alignment quality of a stacked sheet decreases to prevent the alignment quality from decreasing and continuing to perform sheet discharge processing without stopping the printing when it is determined that the alignment quality does not decrease.SOLUTION: It is determined, when a second sheet different from a first sheet stacked on a stacking tray on which discharged sheets are stacked is to be stacked on the first sheet, whether alignment processing for the second sheet is to be performed, to stack the second sheet on the stacking tray without performing the alignment processing when it is determined that the alignment processing for the second sheet is not performed and to stack the second sheet on the stacking tray to perform the alignment processing for the second sheet when it is determined that the alignment processing for the second sheet is performed. |
