The invention relates to a method and device for the liquid phase thermal conversion of heavy hydrocarbon feedstock. The method includes tangentially feeding thermally treated feedstock into a reactor above the phase interface level and discharging vapours and liquid product from the top and the bottom of the reactor respectively, wherein the feedstock is premixed with a recycled portion of the liquid product and the resultant mixture is introduced into the reactor at an incline to the horizontal so that the phase interface surface is a surface of revolution, and wherein a portion of the liquid product is recycled and the remainder of the liquid product is discharged. The device comprises a reactor, having a shell, a head, a base, a separation space, a pipe for the delivery of thermally treated feedstock and pipes for the discharge of vapours and liquid product, situated in the head and the base respectively. The base is configured in the form of a convexo-concave surface of revolution about a vertical axis with the convex part adjacent to the reactor shell, the delivery pipe is situated at an incline to the horizontal, and the discharge pipe is tangential to the outer side of the convex surface of the base. A liquid jet pump, connected to the liquid product delivery line, is installed on the feedstock delivery line. The invention makes it possible to improve liquid product quality, reduce energy expenditure and attenuate coke deposition. |
