PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repeatedly apply a liquid at a predetermined shape pattern having a set cycle to a continuously conveyed web, while inhibiting omission of the liquid to be applied and controlling a degree of impregnation.SOLUTION: A liquid application device 1 which repeatedly applies a liquid at a predetermined shape pattern having a set cycle to a continuously conveyed web 7, is equipped with: an application roller 3 such that at least one porous block 3B formed from a porous body capable of compressive deformation and containing continuous pores are disposed discontinuously at the outer surface in the peripheral direction; and a supplier 27 that supplies liquid to the application roller in a manner so as to impregnate the porous block. The application roller is disposed with respect to the web in a manner such that the portion of the porous block contacting the surface of the web is pushed inwards in the radial direction by the web, and by means of the application roller rotating during web conveyance, the liquid impregnating the porous block is applied to the web. |
