PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer in which distortion of a dielectric multilayer film is suppressed by increasing the thickness of a filter glass block and light passing through the filter glass block surely passes through the inside of an effective area of the filter glass block, and to provided a method of manufacturing the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer, and an optical communication module using the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer.SOLUTION: In the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer which is mounted on the optical communication module and demultiplexes or multiplexes a plurality of light beams different in wavelength, a filter glass block 21 including a plurality of dielectric multilayer films transmitting light at prescribed wavelengths and reflecting light at the other wavelengths is integrally joined in a row to one end surface 20a of a light-transmissive glass block 20 which is rectangular and has a prescribed thickness, and a reflecting film 23a is provided on the other opposite end surface 20b of the light-transmissive glass block 20. In a width-direction side surface 21a of the filter glass block 21, a cut surface parallel with an optical axis direction is formed.
