PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to estimate, from a state where the number of cells included in an image is unknown, the number of cells, and the shapes and activity time series of the respective cells quickly in a sufficiently accurate and stable manner, without the need to separately set initial conditions.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus represents the activity of cells by the product of the shapes of the cells a(x,y) represented by a non-negative value and a change in calcium concentration v(t) derived from the spike time series u(t) represented by a non-negative value; and determines, on the basis of a model in which observation data f(t,x,y) is described by using the linear sum of the plurality of cell activities and a baseline, the positions and activity of the cells assumed from the estimation based on the Bayesian theory obtained from the observation data, the model, and a prior distribution. |
