PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress posture change in recording medium after detachment of a transfer film and reduce transfer failure due to change in the detachment position.SOLUTION: In a transfer device, a transfer film and recording medium are sandwiched with a transfer roller and transfer platen so as to form an image on a recording medium. The transfer device comprises a detachment member for detaching the transfer film from the recording medium after transferring and a supporting member supporting the recording medium after the detachment at downstream side of the detachment member. In such situation, a recording medium contacting point on the detachment member is designed at: a position equivalent to a first tangent passing through a recording medium contacting point on the transfer roller and a recording medium contacting point on transporting roller at downstream of the transfer roller; or a position closer to the transfer platen than the first tangent. A recording medium contacting point of the supporting member is designed at a position equivalent to a second tangent passing through the recording medium contacting point on the transfer roller and the recording medium contacting point on the detachment member; or a position closer to the transfer platen than the second tangent. |
