PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for exhaust gas treatment capable of performing desulfurization of exhaust gas, without using water, unlike a wet desulfurization device using water.SOLUTION: The exhaust gas treatment device includes: a denitrification device 14 provided at a flue 13 for discharging exhaust gas 12 from a boiler 11, for removing nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas 12; a SO-SOconversion catalyst part 15 provided at the flue on a downstream side of the denitrification device 14, and having a conversion catalyst for converting SO(sulfur dioxide) in denitrified exhaust gas 12A into SO(sulfur trioxide); a heat exchanger 16 provided at the flue 13 on a downstream side of the SO-SOconversion catalyst part 15, for exchanging heat between exhaust gas 12B and air 20, and making temperature of the exhaust gas 12B having passed through the catalyst equal to or under an acid dew point; and a dust collector 17 for making soot and dust adhere around sulfuric acid droplets in the exhaust gas made to be equal to or under the acid dew point, in the heat exchanger 16, and collecting the sulfuric acid covered with soot and dust, and soot and dust in exhaust gas 12C. |
