A picture frame and system and method of construction thereof a picture frame is constructed using a system and method wherein a pair of cooperating profile extrusion lengths (11, 12) are cut to size to form a frame to accommodate a piece of artwork. A continuous spacer (15) is provided to be locatable between a cover sheet (13) and backing sheet (14). The profile lengths (11, 12) are fastened together at the edges of the frame, thereby compressing the spacer (15) between the cover sheet (13) and backing sheet (14). As such an isolated volume (26) is created that can be evacuated of oxygen for preservation of the artwork. |
