Disclosed herein are a video display device and a method of displaying a video. Herein, the video display device includes a communication unit acquiring a video including rotation information, a display unit displaying the video, and a processor setting up a video playback mode, wherein the video playback mode may include a natural display mode displaying the acquired video without performing any rotation compensation based upon the rotation information, and a horizontal display mode displaying the acquired video performing the rotation compensation based upon the rotation information, wherein, when the video playback mode corresponds to the horizontal display mode, the video display device performs the rotation compensation of a plurality of sequential frames of the video based upon the rotation information, and displays each of the sequential frames of the video cropped to a size, and wherein a cropping size is decided based upon the rotation information of the plurality of sequential frames of the video. |
