A classifier whereby a muddy water-like object (W) to be treated, said object (W) being prepared by adding water, optionally together with an alkaline agent, to soil contaminated with a radioactive substance and mixing by stirring, is passed through a screen (12) having a definite aperture (A) and thus classified into a passed object (Q) and a non-passed object (R), wherein the screen (12) is configured from a cylindrical rotor (15) that is attached to the outer periphery thereof and capable of rotating around a central axis extending roughly horizontally, a rotation mechanism (20) that rotates the rotor (15), and a water-jetting mechanism (30) that is inserted from the outside into the rotor (15) and jets water toward the screen (12), so that the non-passed object (R) discharged from a discharge port (14) of the rotor (15) is separated from the passed object (Q) having passed the screen (12) of the rotor (15). |
