For a load circuit (10c) having a load (14) requiring a supply of power during stand-by operation mode, the output voltage is set to 5 V, which, of the supply load voltages needed during stand-by operation mode, is the lowest voltage. During normal operation mode in the circuit (10c), a load (15) requiring a higher load voltage than the output voltage of 5 V is supplied with an output voltage boosted by a boosting means such as a boost converter (21) or the like. Power consumption during the stand-by operation mode can be reduced thereby.
