摘要 Provided are: a manufacturing method for an electrode material that can improve output characteristics by supporting, on a carbon material, a metallic compound that can easily become unstable crystal by a high temperature reaction, and compositing a composite material in an oxygen-containing atmosphere; and an energy storage device provided with said electrode material. Firstly, a carbon material undergoes nanoparticalization, and a metallic compound precursor is supported on the carbon material. The metallic compound precursor is M&bgr;Yγ before containing lithium. Next, the metallic compound precursor is subjected to a reaction to generate a metallic compound. In this compositing step, the metallic compound precursor supported on the carbon material is synthesized and crystallized. Hydrothermal synthesis is used as the method for synthesizing and crystallizing the metallic compound precursor, and synthesizes the compound in the presence of high pressure steam, and promotes crystal growth.
