This interface device is provided with: a beam radiating device (101) that releases a beam (102); an image sensor (106); a light-shielding guide (104) that leads the beam (102) to the image sensor (106) and obstructs at least a portion of other light from reaching the image sensor (106); and a recognition unit (112) that receives a signal read by the image sensor (106). The recognition unit (112) detects that the progress of at least a portion of the beam (102) is obstructed by an object positioned between the beam radiating device (101) and the image sensor (106) and receives an input corresponding to the form thereof.
