An electronic instrument (10) has a mounting member, e.g., a jacket, mounted thereon. The electronic instrument (10) is, e.g., a portable communication terminal, and is provided with a type determination unit (110), a function determination unit (120), and a launch unit (130). The type determination unit (110) determines the type of mounting member mounted on the electronic instrument (10). The function determination unit (120) determines the function to launch, from amongst the functions held by the electronic instrument (10) in advance, on the basis of the type determined by the type determination unit (110).
