PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for enabling H(e)NB integrity validation using autonomous validation and semi-autonomous validation.SOLUTION: A method implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for performing integrity verification of the WTRU comprises the steps of: measuring integrity metrics for components of the WTRU; retrieving trusted reference values (TRVs) from a secure local storage on the WTRU, which are originally stored in the secure local storage; comparing the measured integrity metrics against the TRVs to determine the result of the integrity verification check for the components; and reporting the result of the integrity verification check for the components to a platform validation entity (PVE), which is a separate entity from the WTRU.
