PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect various abnormal conditions of sliding shoes such as damage or stain of the sliding shoes in a sliding-shoe type sorting conveyor.SOLUTION: A sliding-shoe type sorting conveyor uses slat conveyors connecting slats extended in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction of an article in the conveying direction of the article, and loading and conveying the article, and the sliding shoes slidable on the slat conveyors in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction of the slats. The sliding-shoe type sorting conveyor has (A) a rocking member provided in the vicinity of a passing area when a portion of the sliding shoes moves normally and (B) a sensor for detecting displacement of the rocking member, and detects the displacement of the portion of the sliding shoes by the sensor through the rocking member.
