PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition with excellent discharge stability, which does not cause an ink discharge failure of an ink jet printer resulting from impurities such as a Ca compound.SOLUTION: A method of producing an ink composition includes: a first step of adding, to a nonaqueous solvent including a pigment, a predetermined amount of water and a predetermined amount of fatty acid, and precipitating fatty acid salts; and a second step of removing the fatty acid salts. |
