PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high polymerization yield and high quality with a facility not requiring a washing process and a simple process as an operation technology by making deactivation of catalysts simple and efficient in manufacturing a polyacetal copolymer.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method of manufacturing a polyacetal copolymer containing trioxane (a) as a main monomer and cyclic ether and/of cyclic formal having at least one carbon-carbon bond as a comonomer (b). This method conducts copolymerization by using the prescribed heteropoly acid as a polymerization catalyst (c), adds a prescribed guanidine compound (d) to a reaction product, and conducts a melting and mixing treatment to deactivate the polymerization catalyst (c). The heteropoly acid is preferably selected from phosphomolybdic acid, phosphotungstic acid and the like and the guanidine compound is preferably selected from 1-(o-tolyl) biguanide, phenyl biguanide, 1,3-diphenyl guanidine, 2-aminobenzimidazole and the like. |
