<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave discharge lamp lighting device using a solid-state element power supply capable of reducing an operation frequency without increasing the size of the device and that is long in life and low in cost.SOLUTION: The microwave discharge lamp lighting device comprises: a metal chamber 10; a discharge lamp 30 that is disposed in the chamber, and that has a light-emission part 31 having a discharge space 31a therein, first and second encapsulation parts 32r and 32f sandwiching the light-emission part, and first and second electrode members 36r and 36f respectively buried in the first and second encapsulation parts so that each front end part is protruded into the discharge space; an antenna 20 connected with the first electrode member, and guiding a microwave introduced from the chamber exterior to the discharge lamp; and a metal member 50 disposed in the vicinity of the second encapsulation part, and electrically connected with the chamber.</p> |
