Disclosed are a method for distinguishing the type of a communication network and a method for providing content using same. According to one desirable embodiment of the present invention, latency with a device that transmitted a content provision request is measured, whether the measured latency exceeds or is equal to a predetermined reference is determined, and a content transmission request is determined as a content transmission request through a mobile communication network when the latency exceeds or is equal to the predetermined reference. According to the present invention, content can be provided while distinguishing between the mobile communication network and an Internet communication network even without requesting content by installing an additional program by the client or operating an additional content server for the mobile communication network, content can be provided through the mobile communication network and the Internet communication network by operating a single content server while enabling distinguishing between the mobile communication network and the Internet communication network, content can be provided more quickly by distinguishing between the mobile communication network and the Internet communication network, and content in different formats can be provided according to the type of the communication network. |
