PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polyester resin for an electrophotographic toner that uses, from the perspective of environmental consideration, polymerized rosins derived from rosin that is a plant-based natural product in a relatively high rate, and satisfies various properties such as low-temperature fixability, offset resistance, blocking resistance, and abrasion resistance; and to apply the polyester resin to an electrophotographic toner.SOLUTION: A polyester resin composition for an electrophotographic toner is used that contains, as a main component, a condensate (A) that is obtained by reacting a total carboxylic acid that contains a polymerized rosin containing a dimer in the amount of 60 weight% or more and/or 25 to 60 mol% of a lower ester of the polymerized rosin, and a total alcohol component that contains 30 to 80 mol% of etherified diphenols; and has the softening point of 90 to 150°C, and the glass transition point of 45 to 75°C. |
