A method of joining superposed plastic sheets along at least one edge with an intervening reinforcing strip along the edge comprises placing a reinforcing strip against an outer face of an assembly of at least two superposed sheets along the edge thereof to be secured, welding the sheets and the reinforcing strip together along the edge and doubling the outer sheet around the welded edge so that the reinforcing strip is then between the two sheets. As shown in Fig. 3 two sheets 14, 13 have reinforcing strips 19 and 20 welded to their opposite outside faces to form a tubular structure. This is then turned inside out as shown in Fig. 4 and the seams flattened as in Fig. 5. The method of welding is as disclosed in Specification 884,077. |
