For better skin pigmentation of poultry, there is incorporated in the feed the alkaline soaptock, containing at least 400 units of xanthophyll/g. of dry soapstock, obtained in the removal of free fatty acids from soybean oil by the addition of an alkali such as sodium hydroxide. To the feed may be added 2-4% of the soapstock wet, or, preferably, 1-2% dry. |
