<p>A candle holder t comprises first and second component parts that between them define a socket for holding the bottom end of a votive or other candle C. The first component part is a central cylindrical base 9 and the second component part is in the form of an annular member 10 that encircles the base 9 and has four prongs 16 upstanding therefrom, the prongs serving, in use, to hold the candle upright. The annular member 10 and its prongs 16 are preferably formed from a metal, for example aluminium, that has a better thermal conductivity than the material of the base, which may be of brass. This ensures good dissipation of heat from the portion of the candle held by the prongs and a relatively greater conservation of heat where the bottom end-face of the candle abuts the base so as to prolong burning at that end and enhance drainage of wax through holes 19 provided in the base.</p> |
