<p>A service gasket (8) includes a one-piece laminate body (24) having a plurality of low pressure seals (40) positionable between an engine head (12) and an engine block (18), and a high pressure combustion seal (42) positionable between the engine head (12) and a sealing surface (22) of a protruding cylinder liner (16). The one-piece laminate body (24) further includes a plurality of pervasive base layers (50) extending from the outer perimeter (26) to the inner perimeter (28), and at least one non-pervasive service layer (60) located outwardly of the inner radial region (34), such that the service gasket (8) has an outwardly stepped-up thickness compensating for increasing a protrusion distance of a sealing surface (22) of the cylinder liner (16) during servicing the internal combustion engine (10).</p> |
