The invention relates to a process for the alkylation of benzene with ethanol, as alkylating agent, or mixtures of ethanol and ethylene, which comprises effecting said reaction in gaseous phase or mixed gas- liquid phase, and in the presence of a catalytic system containing a zeolite belonging to the MTW family. According to a preferred aspect, ethanol obtained from biomasses is used, in particular obtained from the fermentation of sugars deriving from biomasses. |
