The present invention relates to a composition for treating, preventing, and improving contact dermatitis including 3,4,5-tricaffeoylquinic acid as an active ingredient. The 3,4,5-tricaffeoylquinic acid of the present invention represents therapeutic activity of contact dermatitis which reduces skin thickness at a dermatitis site of an animal model with contact dermatitis while sharply reducing the secretion amount of IL-1βinduced by by LPS and ATP processing in macrophage originated from bone marrow. The composition is extracted from natural products and is harmless to human bodies, therefore the composition can be developed as medicine for treatment or improvement of contact dermatitis or an active material for cosmetics. |
