<p>Apparatus 10 for filling a watering can 12 comprises a platform 22 for supporting the watering can and a valve 26 for supplying water to the can. In one embodiment a pivot 20 is arranged under the platform and the pivoting movement of the platform shuts of the valve. In a further embodiment (figure 3) the platform is spring biased upwardly and a seesaw is arrangement between the platform and the valve, so that pivoting movement of the seesaw shuts of the valve. In yet a further embodiment (figure 4) the platform is spring biased upwardly and a push to make switch is positioned below the platform, when the can is full the platform drops and shuts off the flow through as solenoid valve. A method of filling a watering can using the above described apparatus is also disclosed.</p> |
