The method involves placing a sample of suspension to be analyzed in an autosampler (2), where the sample is supplemented with hydrocarbon having free anti-radical agent such as isopropanol. The sample is subjected to a sonication process carried out at a controlled temperature so as to inhibit any heating of the sample capable of activating reactions involving a set of particles to be proportioned. An element such as cerium element, is proportioned by performing spectrometric analysis of the sample, where the element is proportioned consecutively or simultaneously at the sonication stage. An independent claim is also included for an installation for proportioning an element included wholly or partially in the form of particles suspended in a liquid.
