The present invention relates to a diatom culture medium composition including the extract of Streptomycesanulatus which is a marine actinomyces and to a method for culturing algae. More specifically, the present invention relates to a diatom culture medium composition including the extract of Streptomycesanulatus which is a marine actinomyces for increasing culturing efficiency by improving the growth rate and fat percentage of diatoms that can be used as a biofuel. The present invention provides a diatom culture medium composition including the extract of Streptomycesanulatus which is a marine actinomyces. Moreover, the concentration of the extract of Streptomycesanulatus which is a marine actinomyces is 30-50 mg/ml. In addition, the present invention provides a method for culturing diatoms, the method comprising a step of culturing diatoms using a diatom culture medium.
