PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time for processing a write command to a volume for snapshot. SOLUTION: A disk array subsystem includes a first volume, and a second volume that is a duplication volume of the first volume. An I/C control part of the disk array subsystem divides write data received from a host device into partial data of data duplication units, determines whether data corresponding to the partial data are duplicated in the second volume or not, reads out the partial data and the data corresponding thereto from the first volume, when determined not to be duplicated, and determines whether the data matches the partial data or not. The I/C control part duplicates the read-out data in the second volume, when the data do not match. The I/C control part writes the partial data into the first volume. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
