Morphing structure for a wing leading edge

The wing leading edge (1) has a deformable shell (2), which is connected to a supporting structure (8) at its two ends (3,4). A fiber composite has a shear-flexible intermediate layer in an area of a neutral fiber of the shell. The shear-flexible intermediate layer is made from an elastomer material. A reinforcing fiber areal density is decreased in the composite fiber of the two ends of the shell to a front area (21) of the wing leading edge.
