COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING SECURININE FOR INDUCING THE DIFFERENTIATION OF CANCER STEM CELL AS AN EFFECTIVE INGREDIENT AND USES THEREOF

The present invention relates to a composition comprising securinine as an active ingredient for inducing differentiation of a cancer stem cell and a method for inducing differentiation of a cancer stem cell by using the same. More specifically, the present invention reveals that the securinine incudes differentiation of the cancer stem cell and can selectively destroy the cancer stem cell in cancer cells. The composition of the present invention can be applied for inducing differentiation of a variety of cancer species which is known to have cancer stem cells, and can effectively suppress recurrence and metastasis of cancer by using the composition alone or combined with a conventional anticancer agent; thereby can be used for treating and preventing cancer diseases.
