<p>An electronic device 10 comprises at least one antenna 114 located within a housing including a heat exchanger 100 with spaced apart fins 106, where an antenna 114 is at least partly integrated with the heat exchanger 100. The antenna 114 may be galvanically connected or capacitively coupled to the interior wall of the heat exchanger 100. An aperture may be provided in the heat exchanger internal wall in a region between a pair of adjacent fins with the antenna being located adjacent to the aperture. A non-conductive material may be located between the antenna 114 and the heat exchanger 100 such that it closes the aperture. The antenna 114 may be a planar slot antenna and the said aperture may be sized and arranged to provide a clearance distance around the perimeter of the slot. The device 10 may be a multimedia device with a metal housing, loudspeakers, amplifier, controller and a wireless network interface comprising a local area network (LAN), intranet or WiFi network. The electronic device 10 may provide a cheap, simple, reliable, compact and efficient wireless communication device.</p> |
