A number of turbines, eg four, are spaced at equidistant intervals within an enclosed circular tubular system allowing continuous air flow through the system thus increasing efficiency. Start-up airflow for the system is provided by a fan powered by mains/battery. The exhaust energy from each turbine provides power to the next turbine and additional airflow is provided by air scoops which provide vectored thrust air to each turbine. The scoops are arranged on rotating platforms such that the wind direction can be tracked and the captured air flow maximised. Adjustable apertures are used to balance the airflows into each turbine and pressure release vents are included to balance airflows within the chambers between the turbines. Each turbine may be connected through a mechanical coupling to a central generator based in the centre of the structure. The power generation system is controlled via a computer system which balances airflows within the system and in turn optimises the torque generated by the system and the power output. |
