The device (10) has a tank (15) with a casing (20) extending upwards from a bottom (21) to a top wall (22). An inflation/deflation unit (35) is arranged for inflating an inflatable bag (25) in part so as to reach an inflated volume prior to filling the tank. The inflation/deflation unit is arranged for deflating the inflatable bag so as to guarantee an expansion volume inside the tank. The bag is fastened to the bottom to provide a slope having a variable angle of inclination to direct the fuel towards a predetermined zone (100) of the tank by gravity. An independent claim is also included for a method for storing fuel in a storage device.
