The bollard 10 comprises an elongate tubular cover 12 and an inner tubular core 14 located within. At the lower end of the core is a damper 16 and a washer 18 is arranged to locate the damper against the core. The inner core may comprise annular spacer elements 20 on its external surface the upper of the spacers in use may engage with a fixing lug 24 that is located in a hole 22 in the outer tube to restrict removal of the bollard. The inner core may comprise a closed base. The bollard may include a bolt 26 which extends through the washer, damper and inner core and into the ground. Also claimed is a method of fixing the bollard. In one use the bollard may be used to protect freezers or refrigerators in supermarket displays from shopping trolleys. |
