The method comprises subjecting a polymer composition to a medium including chemical reagents, electron beam radiation and/or electromagnetic radiation, transforming impurity in the composition to mold, and removing the transformed impurity from the polymer composition. The removing step is carried out by diffusion of the polymer composition. The transformed impurity has a larger diffusion coefficient with respect to the polymer composition as the initial impurity. A ratio of the diffusion coefficient of the transformed impurity to a diffusion coefficient of the initial impurity is >= 10.
