The invention relates to a method for completing and/or correcting digital weather radar images. For this purpose, a number of satellite images (21, 22,...) are used, the individual satellite images (21, 22,...) displaying reflected radiation at different wavelengths (11... 18). Multiple different radiation values (S11,...) at specified wavelengths (11,...) are assigned to each of the pixels (211, 221,...) of the satellite images (21), said pixels (211, 221,...) of the satellite images (21, 22,...) correspondingly comprising a sub-region (110) to which each radiation value (S11,...) is assigned. The weather radar image (1) pixels (16) that can be found in the surroundings (15) of the pixel mask (13) are selected. Input data sets (17) for a fitting method are generated for each of the selected pixels (16) of the weather radar image (1). A fitting function f(S11, S12, S13,...) is generated using the fitting method. For each of the pixels (11) of the pixel mask (13), the satellite image (21, 22,...) pixels (211, 221,...) assigned to the respective pixels (11) of the weather radar image (1) are used, and the fitting function (f) is applied to the radiation values (Sl11, Sl12, Sl13,...) of the satellite image pixels. The estimated value J= f(S11, S12, S13,..) resulting from the fitting function (f) is ascertained, and the erroneous reflectivity values (IF) of the respective pixel (11) is replaced with the estimated value (J). |
